Scott and I went to the barrows on monday to collect more driftwood for crafts and stuff, and I took my camera along, it being a glorious day and all.
First we went round the woods near by, to keep Scott happy, and to let me visit the rocks in the clearing there.
The roots on this tree were amazing.

Then Scott decided he was a monkey.

Took a few snaps of the Druid Alter there, I have always loved it. For once it wasn’t full of rubbish and slime which was nice.

Then it was onto the Barrows themselves. Its one of my favorite places in the area, if not THE favorite. I find it very peaceful up there, and a little sad for some reason. Took a few pics of the chapel, then moved on to beach combing.

Not the type of wood we were looking for, but I was fascinated by the patterns on this burnt piece of wood, so I photographed it.

And then I fell in love with the color of the leaves on this plant. No idea what it was.

I got wet feet from falling into a rock pool, my sandals squelched and made farting noises all the way home after that, and the dye came of them and made my feet black in places which was really attractive! Walking along we noticed the cliffs had funny holes in. Wonder if its natural, softer veins of rock have been eroded, or whether the holes were drilled and the opening softened by the elements.

It had gotten to about 7pm then, and the sun was cooling off, so we decided to head home. Being a hopeless romantic at times, I snaped off a few shots of the sunset.

Also took a parting shot of the view over the bay from there. Turned out quite nice.

So, thats my Monday night in glorious Technicolor. I have a lot more photos but I didn’t want to over do it. And Scott and I did think about walking out to have a look at the remains of that old wreck on the beach near the power station but decided we didn’t want to risk the quicksands Morecambe Bay is notorious for as a rescue by the coastguard would be to embarrassing.
One last pic I will share…
Earlier that day I had been taking photo’s for my new craft site of various things I have made, using black velvet as a backdrop. I turn my back for a few minutes, and came back to find my ginger cat, Horatio (after Horatio Cane from CSI: Miami) curled up asleep on the velvet. Now if I had tried to pose him on it, it, he would have never stayed still, so I took advantage of the opportunity.

Isn’t he sweet
Trust me, he is not that quiet very often.
