Back in the year 2000 when I was recovering from the train wreck that had been my relationship with my abusive ex, I wrote the rough draft of a Dr Who novel. Set in Morecambe and featuring the Eighth Doctor, it was a tale revolving around the Winter Gardens and vampires. My mum read it and liked it, and suggested I worked on it more. I then prompotly put it somewhere safe and forgot about it.
Then, a month or so back, I found the ‘manuscript’ again. Looking back at it, its nothing special right now, butthere are times I feel I could perhaps make it special,the ideas are still there and it still inspires me. Parts of the story would have to be changed: Back when I wrote it the Winter Gardens was closed to the public, nowadays its open every weekend and you can even take tours round it. Oh, which if I do rewrite I will have to do, as I haven’t a clue what the layout of the place really is.
So whats stopping me? The usual self doubt more than anything. Is there any point to me writing this book? Will anyone like it? Will anyone ever even SEE it? How would I go about maybe getting it published? Do the BBC even publish 8th doctor novels anymore. Ack, so many questions, so little brainpower! It would seem such a shame to rewrite it and then no one ever even reading it.

They might not publish 8th Doctor novels but Big Finish make 8th Doctor Audio’s – And you can always publish it here – we’d love to read a Doctor Who story

Got caught doing your boss, his friends, and taking pictures in the kwik sand. You sad sad girl. I have been with him for 6 years, married 2, he is the sweetest, kindest, man I have ever met. Maybe you caused the “abuse”

Hold on, I knew Carl back in those days and he was an absolute twat. He may have changed as he has gotten older but there is no other way of describing him then. You say you have known him for 6 years, the events you are referring to happened 10 years ago & more, so the only way you could know anything about it is from what he’s told you – there are always 2 sides to a story, he’s hardly going to paint himself in a bad light is he?
Anyway, just let all this drop – you can believe what you like but if you are prepared to take his word for what happened then that is your problem, get on with your own life such as that may be and leave the past in the past.

I wasn’t actually going to dignify this with a reply, but woud you care to point out where I mentioned Carl’s name in this post? Whatever happened between Carl and I in the pest is just that, the past. We were both young, too young for a serious relatonship, and right now I am just getting on with my life the best I can. 10 years have passed for gods sake.
But one thing I will say, I never cheated. My boss? It was Rape. Which he was convicted of. If that counts as cheating well very sorry about that.
Have a nice life, ansd stay the hell out of mine.
